Sail 2010 (3)

The royal ship 'the green dragon' hasn't been out of primer since our royal family had to cough up the maintenance themselves instead of the taxpayers.

A lot of royalty watchers...

... some of them quite skilled...

... he just pitied these fools ....

... probably also these 50 year old kiddies and there remote controlled toys... allthough...

I haven't had this view since I was ten!

Sail 2010 (2)

The second day there was some action packed schedule for the young and restless... skutsje sailing...

But clearly... the best sailors were ashore...

Just a tiny bit off...

Boats...

... boats ...
... boats ...
... boats ...
... boats ...

... and a piece of wood with obviously more sex appeal then I will ever have ....

... and boats ...

... boats ...

The security went a bit overboard trying to keep it from getting overcrowded!

And of course... boats...

I could swear...

It turned out to be a long day for everyone.

Listening to Grooveshark on a headset, throwing back a bottle of beer while updating his CV on Monsterboard...

Sail 2010 (1)

Sail started with the sail-in, a 30 mile long boat blender from IJmuiden to Amsterdam. From a podium on the docks the Sail-sing-a-long guided the boats to their spot...

and with mermaids like this... it's a miracle no severe accidents happened.

Some 'HOORRRRAAHH' chants were coming from the belly of a marines vessel... this she-dare-devil risked to take a peek before a green baret would wake up and act : 'FREEZE!... WHO IS THERE?... PASSWORD?'

On one of the ships a mouse was spotted on deck... it must have been a fear full hungry big one...

The Amerigo Vespucci. A lot of blingbling, not really good for sailing though.

Never seen a nurse before... and I could swear...

After pulling of the over the top bandage, after donating some blood for the cause, a gushing wound appeared... can't you see it... the little red blob... look good... luckily some of our female companions had some handy solution available...

It was damn hard to shoot this picture of the Amerigo Vespucci guard since the Italian pretty boy could not keep his eyes of all the mini skirts and was moving his head like watching a tennis match.

Shiny!

So tidy.

And the day ended with a bang.

Dutch heritage

Being a loyal dutch patriot, it's like seeing the Zaanse Schans and then die... hopefully still some decades away but I like to live dangerously... so here I went...

It's not a well known fact, but there is overwhelming evidence, all over this place, that the Dutch invented the helicopters.

For some, the switch to the metric system is still one step to far... (sorry my friend)

Tastefull.

And I went completely overboard... Zaanse Schans, Volendam, Marken and Durgerdam all in one big swoop.
